The Bleach Beast in the Red Mountains
The Bleach Beast is an enigmatic creature of unknown age, who is central to the events of Rice Boy. A strange facet of the Beast's existence is that he will follow any master's orders, unless he is allowed free "for even a second".<ref>http://www.rice-boy.com/see/index.php?c=274</ref> Ridrom thus took ownership of the Beast, and used him to ensure his line of Heirs continued on until the Prophecy was fulfilled. Possession of the Beast has gone from Heir to Heir over the many years since Ridrom died.<ref>http://www.rice-boy.com/see/index.php?c=270</ref>
However, in most of Overside, the Bleach Beast is viewed as a "great hairy monster",<ref>http://www.rice-boy.com/see/index.php?c=040</ref> and many believe that he eats the people that he really is kidnapping to be apprentice Heirs. This caused Gerund to vow to kill the Beast (who he thinks lives in Lonely Land) after Infin was taken.
The mechanism of the Bleach Beast's immortality is unknown. However, according to Parod, the Beast "eats the daytime and drinks the nighttime"<ref>http://www.rice-boy.com/see/index.php?c=269</ref>, so it seemingly has no need of sustenance. This makes its immortality more similar to that granted to the Searchers than that gained by the Black Drink.
