Rice Boy Order of Tales Waiting in Surya The Tethered Isle Settling Down |
Calabash (Cal, to friends) is a main character in Rice Boy and Order of Tales, as he is one of the three Searchers along with The One Electronic and Golgo. He also stars in Waiting in Surya and The Tethered Isle, although not doing anything related to his job as a Searcher.
In Rice Boy, he talks with an accent, and is often found at Suzy's bar drinking straight from a bottle of booze. Nonetheless, T-O-E considers him to be more knowledgeable about picking Fulfillers and interacting with people more generally.
He has a more central role in Order of Tales, and he often serves as T-O-E's conscience, often reminding him to treat others like people instead of pawns. He is not afraid to disagree with T-O-E, but the two are very close (considering the amount of time they've spent together).
While being stuck on Surya for many years he turns very silent. During the short Waiting in Surya comic he acts mainly as a listener. The reason why he was deported to that cold land is unknown, even to him, but it might have been due to murder[1].
