Enemies
Evan Dahm has many enemies in the webcomics community, although foremost among them is Yuko Ota, artist behind the webcomic Johnny Wander. Although Dahm originally appeared in that comic in a favorable light,[1][2][3][4][5][6][7] on 29 January 2011 Ota declared Dahm her "arch-nemesis".[8] This was brought on by Dahm's having penciled and inked four pages in one day,[9] dwarfing Ota's recent output. Furthermore, Ota's enmity for Dahm may also be linked to a series of incidents previously thought to be unrelated by government authorities.[10]
Ota's 29 January outburst was followed by approval from Aaron Diaz, author of Dresden Codak, whose longstanding enmity with Dahm is well-known. Diaz had been a longstanding member of the Koala Wallop comics group, but he left the organization promptly after Dahm was offered membership. Shortly after Ota's original comments, he urged the artist to kill Dahm as a face-saving measure.[11] Unlike Diaz, Kel McDonald, author of Sorcery 101, chose not to add to Ota's threats, instead expressing appreciation for the "epic battles" yet to come.[12]
Dahm simply promised the destruction of his enemies.[13]
