Flowers of Skystem is the first story told by Koark in Order of Tales. He tells it as a young man to his mount, Potok, while on a trip to gather flowers, telling his steed that it is a secret story. It concerns the creation of Overside.
Flowers of Skystem
In the White Age before all
the peoples of the Disc,
the Giants made all:
IM made the heights;
YM made the depths;
EM made the dryness;
UM made the wetness;
ÜM made the weather;
ÄM made the first thought;
AM made the day;
and OM made the night.
OM worked long on the night sky, a
tapestry of all colors to cover all
the world, brighter than even the
day. As he reached high to hang the
last edge of the sky, there came a
great noise, for at that time Üm
made the thunder. Om was startled,
and his sky fell, all except for the
tiny spots that are stars. And
Om's sky fell in the land named
Skystem, and became its flowers.
