Fulfiller

Fulfiller is a name given to the person chosen by the Searchers to fulfill Ridrom's Prophecy and bring back the Avatar of Mind. However, over the 3000 years preceding Rice Boy, none of the people chosen had done anything close to fulfilling the prophecy. Instead, the Searchers seemed to pick a Fulfiller based more on an obligation to their agreement with God, than on any fitness of the candidate for their role.
The first Fulfiller encountered in Rice Boy is Spatch, who was chosen when he was Prince of Sunk under his father Gortch. However, after being chosen, his xenophobia and jingoism led him to form a cult around himself, very contrary to the Searchers' wishes. Spatch II, Spatch's son, believes that he is Fulfiller as well, as is written in the Book of Spatch, a theocratic lawbook that outlines the governance of Sunk.
When Spatch died, just before the opening of Rice Boy, The One Electronic had selected Rice Boy as the next candidate Fulfiller, although he wanted Calabash's approval before making it formal.
In Other Stories
The identity of the Fulfiller during the events of Order of Tales or Vattu is unknown.
The unseen Jord in The Tethered Isle might be a candidate Fulfiller; T-O-E and Cal are searching him out for an unstated reason. Even if Jord were a Fulfiller, though, there is no indication of when The Tethered Isle occurred, nor mention of Jord in any other stories.
