Teller Gerrah is the latest Teller in Serínger's lineage, and at the opening of Order of Tales, he is traveling to visit Duke Teller Themb in his castle. While Strael suspects that Gerrah has murdered Teller Mour, neither the Duke nor Duchess realize that Gerrah's visit is in fact an attack. Along with the Rhed, silent mercenaries from the swamps of eastern Acirca, Gerrah succeeds in destroying Themb's Castle, killing Themb and Strael, and causing Koark to flee from Skystem.
Teller Gerrah's motives are unknown-- while he may simply be insane, he also taunts Themb, calling him "Themb the Selfish" and "the Rich", implying that he is jealous or critical of Themb's opulent lifestyle. He also orders the Rhed to burn down Themb's library, which indicates that he is not concerned with the loss of stories that his fellow Teller had gathered.
