Giants

The Giants are mythical beings believed to have roamed Overside in the White Age, who are responsible for the appearance of the Disk.[1] There are eight giants total, as listed in Flowers of Skystem:
- Im, who is responsible for mountains
- Ym, who is responsible for the seas
- Em, who is responsible for the "dryness" (likely deserts)
- Um, who is responsible for water
- Üm, who is responsible for the weather
- Äm, who "made the first thought", the first Machine Man Omem
- Am, who is responsible for the day
- Om, who is responsible for the night
The descriptions listed here (when not quoted) are somewhat speculative, since it is not clear, for instance, what the difference is between Em's and Um's roles. Also, "the day" and "the night" would not be normally considered as part of the Disk's "appearance", but they are nonetheless the handiwork of Am and Om respectively.
Altogether, the initial vowels of the Giants' names represent all possible vowels that can be expressed in Seen-Script.
