Golgo (also known as "Angel-Eye"), a Gaundt,[1] was one of the three Searchers until he left The One Electronic and Calabash for unknown reasons. To preserve his already-lengthened life, Golgo turned to the Black Drink, a life-extending concoction brewed by the apothecary Olga, his sister. However, the Drink has made him violent and uneasy, warping his personality.
In Rice Boy, Golgo travels with Dolly on a large green beast, stalking T-O-E and Calabash under the employ of Spatch II. He has a special robotic eye, which can detach from his eye-socket and fly through the air, recording events for Golgo to later watch. When the eye is gone, he often covers the hole with an eyepatch.
In Chapter 12 of Order of Tales, Golgo saves Koark from Chasmus.[2]
Name
When he first designed the character in 2007, Dahm couldn't come up with a name, so he asked the members of an art forum for help. One suggested "Golgo", in reference to Golgo 13, since Dahm had described the character as a bounty hunter. Dahm, who was unaware with the reference, used the name, but later considered changing the name to "Gorgo" (a more obscure reference to a Frank Zappa song from Trance-Fusion, which itself may be a reference to a 1961 film of the same name) when he learned of the reference.[3]
