Gorrkans

The Gorrkans are a species from the bogs of Gorrk at the northwestern tip of Wusterim. They play an important role in Waiting in Surya, and are furthermore featured in the Warriors art book. Gorrkans are notable for the colorful fronds that come from their heads, which may be decorative headwear or a natural growth. These protrusions have a unique coloring that the individual Gorrkan mimics on any personal items, such as on shields, emblems, and even fletchings.
Although they believe themselves to be one of the oldest organized civilizations on Overside, Gorrkan politics are in fact fraught with infighting and regionalism, to the point where no Emperor (an elected position) has been able to rule all Gorrkans. The exception to this rule occurred during the seventh Red century, when The One Electronic was briefly elected Emperor. He accomplished unified rule through direction of the "Bog-Squads", some kind of collection of bow-wielding Gorrkan military groups that answer to the Emperor.
Despite their governmental issues, Gorrkans are accomplished shipwrights, and they make massive craft similar to ancient Viking longships. These ships are sturdy enough to travel the length of the Wustersea, from one end of the continent to another.
