Gorrkans

The Gorrkans are a species from northwestern Wusterim that resides in the bogs of Gorrk, and that plays an important role in Waiting in Surya . Gorrkans are notable for the colorful fronds that come from their heads, which may be decorative headwear or a natural growth. These protrusions have a unique coloring that the individual Gorrkan mimics on its shield. Gorrkans are accomplished shipwrights, and they make craft similar to ancient Viking longships.

Their governmental system is unknown, although they have the position "Emperor", which is chosen by the population. During the seventh Red century, The One Electronic was Emperor of the Gorrkans, indicating that non-Gorrkan people can be Emperor as well.

Other than these few facts, not much is known about Gorrkans, although more information should be revealed in the forthcoming Portraits of Overside: Warriors.
