Preteros is a young Hornèd living in Stonepalm during the early Red Age. He survived the attack by the Torch which destroyed Stonepalm's Above-Town, and stayed aboveground to challenge any lingering invaders. He mistakes Koark for one such enemy until Adjetos appears, thus saving Koark and Bottle Woman from attack.
Once inside the Heart of the Palm, Preteros leads Koark and Bottle Woman to an audience with King Pronomb.
