River Tarria

The River Tarria is a long waterway that is essentially the central- and south-Esterteng analogue of the Sunk River. It, along with the River Asria, is a distributary of another river that originates from the Estring Mountains. While the Asria goes west to empty into Circle Sea, the Tarria continues on a southern path straight to the southern tip of the Esterteng. While it does not form a delta like the Sunk, the fork it creates with the Asria likely was the rationale behind the location of Sahta.
The Tarria is important to the Fluters, who call it the River Ata, associating it with the god Ata. The white-marked tribe lives on its east bank, moving north and south to follow the migrating herds of Torgut. They associate the river's origin with some theoretical higher, "sacred" lands from which the river flows. The Dead, unmarked Fluters, come from "downriver".
