The Oceanqueen Slent is a large sea-creature responsible for the creation and governance of Tenshells. In Chapter 3, Koark is taken to the Oceanqueen under suspicion of killing Extranji.
Slent herself may be as much as 500 years old at the time of Order of Tales, which sets her birth sometime in the late Blue Age. Karpesk Voorteru, a later Red Age historian, believes that a group of several sea-creatures in fact all claim to be "Oceanqueen", and as such there is not just the one long-lived creature. Nonetheless, Slent caused the Fin-Folk to construct the foundation of Tenshells, and made herself the head of their government until its later decline after the events of Order of Tales.
