Stonepalm
From Rice Boy Wiki
Stonepalm (sometimes Stone Palm or the Stone Palm) is an enormous natural structure in the Hornspine in northwest Acirca that resembles a cupped hand. Since the beginning of the Red Age, it has been occupied by the Hornèds. It appears in a flashback during Chapter 6 of Rice Boy, and features prominently in Order of Tales.

History
In the early Red Age, Stonepalm was home to Vurcarre, a massive eight-legged dragon. As recounted in Nom's Saga, the Hornèd warrior Nom led a group of 65 Hornèds to slay Vurcarre, and after they were successful, Nom was declared king and Stonepalm was "founded". The group of Hornèds who lived there became known as the Hornèd-of-the-Palm (as opposed to the Hornèds-of-the-Plain).
However, the Machine Man Caprillo, a Red Age historian, disagrees with the story of Nom's Saga. His research indicates that Nom was just one of many Plains chieftans, who happened to move north after a military defeat. While there may have been a warrior figure that led the colonization of the Palm, it was not Nom; the two have become conflated in lore since the event.[1]
Nomswall
To the north of Stonepalm, stretching between the Fueg and Sunk rivers,[2] is a large defensive structure known as Nomswall ("Nom's Wall"). It is built to allow the Hornèds to repel invading armies by pouring hot oil on them from the top of the wall. However, it was not enough to stop the Torch, who managed to raze much of Stonepalm in Red 234.[3]
Under the Palm
While there are a number of buildings in Stonepalm, collectively referred to as Above-Town, there is also a massive cave structure underneath known as the Palm's Heart. It is normally off-limits to outsiders, but Koark and the Bottle Woman are brought there by Adjetos and Preteros on p225.
Also located under the Palm is the Track, a tunnel that stretches from the Palm's Heart to a cave opening just south of Imfort. No light enters the tunnel, and it likely branches in many directions, since Adjetos warns Koark to keep his right hand on the wall, lest he become lost.[4]
