Duchess Strael is the wife of Duke Teller Themb and mother of Koark. She is first to suspect that Teller Gerrah has gone mad and killed Mour, the third Teller. Her suspicions are confirmed when Gerrah attacks Themb's Castle with his army of Rhed. She and her husband were likely killed by Gerrah at the close of chapter 1.
