List of unseen characters

From Rice Boy Wiki

Jump to: navigation, search

This is a list of characters that have only been mentioned by name in Evan Dahm's comics, but not seen or represented in any way. There are some characters that are mentioned in one story but not seen until another; those are not included on this list.

Contents

In Rice Boy

  • God: It might be the case that God cannot be seen.
  • Omo: He is mentioned in the History section at the end, but not shown. And although he is technically on OOT p431, it is not clear which of the Machine Sons is him.
  • Flutch: The first King of Sunk is also referenced in the History, but not shown. However he likely looks like all other Frog-Men.

In Order of Tales

Book I

  • Mour: He is not shown in any comic, although he appears in a spot illustration in the Appendix of the (little-known) softcover Chapter 1 book, as well as in a book illustration (which is used as his picture on this wiki).
  • The Giants: It is unclear whether their appearance in the illustrations of Flowers of Skystem is representative of their "actual" appearance.
  • Shureg: He was the subject of a design contest, as is explained on his wiki page, but he has not been drawn by Dahm himself.
  • Teller Speneng: The Teller of an unknown Lineage, who recorded Negat the Tall. The name "Speneng" comes from a transcription of the Seen-Script writing at the beginning of that story.
  • Mudtgar: An explorer mentioned in the OOT Book I appendix (p221) who wrote The Dorlish Atlas. He is called a "contemporary" by Kerküsk, although that does not indicate much (possibly that he lived in the later half of the Red Age).
  • Baroness Esnurz: She is mentioned in Book I's appendix as well (p222), mentioned as the author of A History of the King of Trees from the Red 100s. She may be from the Gecrimaug Barony.
  • Karpesk Voorteru: A fourth Red century historian who theorized that there is more than one Oceanqueen. They are named in the OOT Book I appendix (p222-3).

Book II

  • Holofrea: Only his horns are shown sticking out from underneath a blanket.
  • Kom: The explorer who seeded the eponymous Kom's Wood. In the Book II appendix, he is described as having planted the wood in the middle Blue Age.
  • Obilik: His name is written in Machine-Script on p434 & p435, and he is only shown from behind, in full armor, in Machine Dominion. His skull is later shown on p619, and he is shown as a statue on p658, but his full appearance was only revealed in a book illustration (used here on his wiki page).
  • Caprillo: Mentioned in the Book II appendix, he is the only other named Machine Exile (other than T-O-E). He wrote about the history of the Hornspine and the Hornèds, and died in Red 244.

Book III

  • The first Bottle Woman: It is unclear whether she looked the same as Bottle Woman from Order of Tales.
  • Tarram Tarroo: A historian from Suntown who argued that the Foundation of Terassir was build by the Giants. Mentioned in the Book III appendix (p293).
  • Aliira: The apocryphal Shade-kin astrologer who is said to have witnessed the celestial event known as the Shæzun, and led the Shade-kin to the crater that would become Shadow Monument. According to the timeline in Warriors, the Shade-kin discovered the Crater in Blue 1625, so if Aliira existed she would've been alive at that time. In the appendix, however, Kerküsk expresses doubt that the Shade-kin discovered the Crater at the same time as the Shæzun itself (p294).

In Vattu

  • Arrius VII: His name is invoked by Morrian. He will likely be seen in the future.
  • Calirus: Single-Proxy to Arrius VII
  • Ata: It is unclear if the Fluters believe Ata exists as some kind of spirit as well as just the river itself.
  • Tarrus: Potentially a Sahtan deity.

In the short stories

Portraits of Overside: Warriors

  • Flutch III: A Frog-Man King who began a war between Sunk and Tenshells, which ended in the Red 115 with the Treaty of Tenshells. Flutch III could indeed be the Frog-Man in a purple cape shown in the illustration, but this has not been confirmed.
