Prince Yureg is a member of the royal family of Satuar, as well as a boastful and dimwitted explorer. Along with the Grand Vizier, Yureg travels abroad from Satuar, claiming new territories for his homeland. One such territory is the Greeny Weens, where the Prince and Vizier happen to rescue Rice Boy from a serpent. However, Yureg promptly arrests Rice Boy for trespassing, and takes him into his custody.
Yureg is generally very brave, but he is also extremely superstitious and particularly fearful of magic. He is also afraid of the "black, one-eyed monsters" of the Red Mountains.
